<p><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#5D5D5D">Dr. Charles Lea</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#5D5D5D"> is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Columbia University in the City of New York. His research and scholarship examine the risk,
resilience, and resistance behaviors of young Black men at-risk and involved with the juvenile/criminal legal systems; the dissemination and implementation of culturally grounded diversion and reentry interventions; and anti-carceral approaches to social work
research and education. Through this work, Dr. Lea aims to develop knowledge and build theories that inform racially just and liberatory policies, practices, and interventions that can promote healthy development among young Black men and boys, as well as
lessen their risk for health-compromising behaviors, arrest, incarceration, and recidivism.
