<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The Department of Psychology at University of South Alabama is hiring a
<b>full-time director </b>to work on a new R01 research project funded by the National Institutes of Health, called SOAR (Strengthening Opportunities for Achievement and Resilience). The purpose of the project is to implement and evaluate an intervention to
reduce youth violence and suicidality. SOAR is a complex, multisystemic project that involves collaboration between the Mobile County Public School System, the Mobile Police Department, and USA.
</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">The director will provide leadership and direction in close collaboration with the project investigators. The director will liaise with multiple external partners and ensure the day-to-day operations
of intervention implementation and evaluation activities. The director will have responsibility for ensuring that the project meets established milestones and for engaging in flexible problem-solving around unanticipated barriers. They will also have primary
responsibility for training, supervising, and evaluating research assistants and other project staff. They will oversee participant recruitment and tracking, records, data collection, and monitoring of human subjects’ protection, including adverse events and
risk management. The director will create and maintain high standards for data collection, protection, storage, and maintenance. They will manage budgetary issues (monitor purchasing and spending; oversee invoices and contracts) and contribute to submitting
annual progress reports to the NIH. They will participate in university and community activities that contribute to the project mission, including maintaining positive and collaborative relationships and prompt communication among partners.
