<div><span style="font-family: Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">The graduate school has a number of research and dissertation awards available. The most notable is the UO Dissertation Research Fellowship award- which I pasted below. These are
competitive Awards. Faculty in CPHS select top proposals within the department, then the College selects a finalist or 2 to submit to the Graduate School, who then selects the winner.</span></div>

proposal to CPHS faculty by January 6. This is about a month lead time - but we recognize this is also over the holidays - so program directors hope this is adequate time. We want to be prepared for when the Graduate School announces deadline dates.</span></div>

By applying for the Dissertation Fellowship program, candidates are first considered for the UO Doctoral Research Fellowship.</p>
<p style="margin:1.5em 0px;font-family:"Open Sans", Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;font-weight:300;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)">
Those not selected for the UO Doctoral Research Fellowship will be considered for the Eric Englund Fellowship and the Lokey Graduate Science Fellowships. Students cannot be selected for more than one fellowship. </p>

UO Doctoral Research Fellowship</h3>

For students in any UO PhD program, this fellowship is awarded to the most outstanding doctoral student as determined by a faculty selection committee.</p>
<p style="margin:1.5em 0px;font-family:"Open Sans", Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;font-weight:300;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)">
Dissertations to be considered can be on any topic and are judged on the quality of the written proposal and the potential impact of the research both within and beyond the student’s field.</p>
<p style="margin:1.5em 0px;font-family:"Open Sans", Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, sans-serif;font-weight:300;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)">
In recent years, the award stipend for this award has been $20,000 for three terms or $13,333 for two terms. These amounts are subject to change for 2021-22. Both options include a University tuition waiver, GE fee subsidies, and GE health insurance. The student
receiving this fellowship will be hired as a Research GE and the stipend will be paid out monthly, on the same schedule as a regular Graduate Employment position.</p>

Recipients must register for at least 9 dissertation credits during each term of the fellowship</p>
