examined unsettled questions that vex us today and identified new measurement challenges that are emerging or are likely to emerge in a world in which the walls between assessment and instruction/learning are being broken down. Panelists were asked to discuss
measurement in the context of a world of personalized instruction with a focus on the individuals’ learning and growth, drawing directly on some portion of Howard Wainer’s historic 1993 article, “Measurement Problems,” on 16 measurement dilemmas. Kathleen
Scalise’s presentation on process data analyses through emerging learning analytics and the intersection of measurement science will be recapped in the U. Oregon EMPL presentation.
