Hi everyone,

As Leslie mentioned earlier in the term, the faculty would like to launch the first CPHS reading circle and invite students and faculty from the three graduate programs, CFT, PREV, and CPSY, to come together  for an evening of engaging discussion.

As a reminder: "the reading circles are intended to provide a platform for students and faculty to delve deeper into important topics, fostering discussion, reflection, and collaboration.  The hope is that students would propose subsequent content to generate ongoing dialog and exploration. Reading circles can be based on books, podcasts, articles, or any other materials that are relevant to your training and to the current national and global context. Toward the end of the first reading circle, the next set of reading circles will be proposed, based on the submitted ideas. If funds are needed to provide copies of a non-freely available reading, we have a small pool of funding available. "
With this in mind, the faculty are proposing the topic of "Advocacy and our Profession".  Attached are readings that have been selected by faculty across the graduate programs to serve as the starting point for many discussions to come.  We recognize that there may be many other readings that would be valuable to this discussion and aren't captured here, but we have tried our best to include readings with the broadest reach and conciseness given all of the other reading that folks do as clinicians and academicians.

With that in mind, we hope you find these reading valuable and will join us for an evening of thoughtful discussion on Monday, November 18th from 6-7:30pm (location TBA). Light refreshments will be provided.

We look forward to seeing folks who are able to join!
