NEW Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Substance Use Recovery Support Services at Oregon Social Learning Center (OSLC)

OSLC has a new two-year postdoctoral research fellowship in substance use recovery support services. Potential for future employment as an OSLC Research Scientist is contingent upon performance and availability of funding. The fellow will work directly with Drs. Ashli Sheidow, Michael McCart, and Tess Drazdowski in achieving the aims of NIH-, foundation-, and state-funded research projects. The fellow will primarily work on a NIDA-funded Initiative (JEAP Initiative, R24DA051950) focused on two populations: (1) emerging adults and (2) adults of any age involved with the justice system. (There is a preference for applicants with an interest in research with emerging adults.) The JEAP Initiative seeks to advance research on the efficacy/effectiveness of recovery support services, specifically peer support services and recovery residences. Including individuals with lived experiences (i.e., in recovery from substance use and/or formerly involved with the adult or juvenile justice system) is a high priority for all JEAP Initiative activities. Therefore, we encourage applicants with lived experience and applicants from underrepresented communities to apply for this position. Beyond the JEAP Initiative activities, integration into other projects will be based on the fellow’s interests and training needs. There are currently multiple NIDA projects that involve a variety of high-risk populations, such as adolescents and emerging adults with mental health and/or substance use issues and adolescents and emerging adults involved with the justice system, and that employ various research designs, such as a stepped-wedge cluster randomized trial, multi-site randomized trial, task-shifting experimental trial, and experimental mediation trial. This position could potentially be remote depending on the state requirements and candidate.
