Hello PrevSci colleagues!
A group of current and alumni Doris Duke fellows<http://www.dorisdukefellowships.org/about> are organizing the upcoming virtual SRCD Workshop on The State of Research on Prevention of Child Maltreatment: Current Knowledge and Future Directions to Inform Policy and Practice (https://www.srcd.org/event/state-research-prevention-child-maltreatment-current-knowledge-and-future-directions-inform<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.srcd.org/event/state-research-prevention-child-maltreatment-current-knowledge-and-future-directions-inform__;!!C5qS4YX3!Vy2JyrsGPF7l9P4BNbMo8XJFRjtbwb3ATxqA2IsuXijq5bNthXfslA7Nu3bOhEAFBA$>).
Overview of the virtual conference: With the inclusion of Family First Prevention Services Act in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, the enactment of SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act, and the popularity of "trauma-informed" approaches, there are many new opportunities to help ensure children and families receive the best available resources. This special topic workshop will bring interdisciplinary researchers, policymakers, and direct service providers, with expertise in child maltreatment prevention together to understand the state of the field and to explore policymakers and practitioners' unanswered questions needed to inform their work. #SRCDPreventMaltreatment
Registration for the event is now open! Follow the link above to register - you will have to create an SRCD account to register. Registration fee for all 3 days of the workshop is only $50, and most session will be recorded and available for asynchronous access following the conference.
