Research Analyst GE
Department: Student Services & Enrollment Management Research & Assessment (SSEM-RA)
FTE: .49
Terms: Fall Winter Spring
Academic Year: 2020-2021
Duties:
SSEM Research and Assessment (SSEM-RA) leverages research design and analysis to inform the decisions of SSEM departments in: 1) enrolling and retaining high-achieving scholars; and 2) providing access, affordability, and essential services to support all students. We assist departments in continuous assessment of their strategic goals to increase the effectiveness of operations and support student success.

The Research Analyst GE will be delegated complex research projects by the Director and two Assistant Directors. These projects are important strategic priorities requiring technical and research expertise. Enrollment Management projects may include point-in-time undergraduate recruitment comparisons, predicting/reporting/analyzing enrollment yield, predicting which admits will be successful, and predicting the impact of financial aid on the decision to enroll. Student Services projects may include service utilization, student outcomes assessment, measurement of health behaviors and attitudes, operational reports, strategic process improvement, and evaluation of student learning and satisfaction.

Key duties of the position include:

* Pull, assemble, and validate data sets.
* Contribute to the formulation of research questions.
* Contribute to the design and execution of research projects.
* Compile research and assessment reports that align with mission and goals.
* Other research- and assessment-related duties as assigned.
Graduate students pursuing any master's or doctoral degree may apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong knowledge and experience with data collection, management, and analysis.
* 12 credits in Research Methods and/or Statistics.
* Experience with UO IRB processes, including knowledge and understanding of confidentiality, federal and state research compliance regulations, and the ethical conduct of research.
* Experience with program assessment and/or evaluation.
* Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication, collaboration, leadership, and organization.
* Demonstrated expertise with existing SSEM-RA data sources and analysis tools (e.g. MS Excel, SAS, R, SPSS, SQL, Tableau, Banner, IDR/Cognos).
