Dear PREV students,

Please see paid opportunity below to be involved in sexual violence
prevention efforts on campus. "The application is open to students who
are *interested* in sexual violence prevention education and wanting to
get involved. No prior experience in sexual violence prevention
education or advocacy is needed to apply though we ask for a commitment
to caring about these issues; we have quite an involved training
process. Both undergraduate and graduate students can apply, though we
cannot hire graduate students who already have a 0.49 FTE graduate
employee position during that term."

Best,
Atika

Hello!

As part of our final push, I am emailing you to please pass on to your
students about this *paid* opportunity around sexual violence prevention
education (SVPE) on campus. As part of our comprehensive campus-wide
prevention efforts, we have two mandatory, evidence-based SVPE focused
initiatives for all incoming undergraduates, which are led by student
peers to create a safer campus community. By the end of Fall term, we
train all incoming first-year students (approximately 4000+) three times
beginning from IntroDUCKtion and continuing on to Fall Term to address
the Red Zone. Thus, it's incredibly important to have your students
included so that all of their various perspectives can be shared with
this new cohort of Fall 2020 students who will become the future of our
UO campus culture.

If students can not apply to be a facilitator, but still want to be
involved in other ways, please encourage them to follow our social
media! Currently, we also have an Instagram campaign occurring where
folks can share about why they care about sexual violence prevention &
education (and have an opportunity to win gift cards to Beppe &
Gianni’s); they can learn more https://www.instagram.com/uosvpe | @uosvpe

The application is open to students who are *interested* in sexual
violence prevention education and wanting to get involved. No prior
experience in sexual violence prevention education or advocacy is needed
to apply though we ask for a commitment to caring about these issues; we
have quite an involved training process. Both undergraduate and graduate
students can apply, though we cannot hire graduate students who already
have a 0.49 FTE graduate employee position during that term. Below are
more specific details:

*_Get Explicit 101_*: Each of the 90minute trainings are facilitated by
3 student peer educators to delve into discussions of sex &
relationships and the nuance of sexualized violence. These sessions
occur during Saturday & Sunday of Week 2 in Fall Term. All trainings and
facilitation sessions are compensated. More details of all dates of
commitment (including training schedules) are listed in the application.

•Deadline: Sunday, February 2, 2020

•Get Explicit Website: http://dos.uoregon.edu/getexplicit

•Application Link url:

•Contact: svpe at uoregon.edu <mailto:svpe at uoregon.edu> (addressed to)

Also please do pass this on to other colleagues (and/or listservs) who
can distribute to interested students.

Thank you as always for your support and feel free to reach out with
questions.
