Greetings Faculty and Students--
I am excited to announce that Dr. Ellen McWhirter has received the Excellence Award for Outstanding Mentorship in Graduate Studies at the University of Oregon.
This award, given out annually by the UO Graduate School, recognizes outstanding mentorship of graduate students and celebrates faculty who foster the academic and professional development of students. This award affirms that strong mentorship is an essential component of strong graduate programs. By giving this award annually, the Graduate School hopes to reinforce and highlight practices that enhance the overall quality of graduate education at the University of Oregon.
Dr. McWhirter will receive a plaque commemorating the award and will be recognized at the UO Faculty Excellence Award ceremony on Tuesday, May 28th at 5:00 pm in Global Scholars Hall.  Please plan to attend!
