PREV and CPSY students,

Many of you have had questions in the past about which journals are appropriate for submitting your completed research papers (SAP, dissertation paper, other research and comps papers). See below from the UO libraries about a resource we can use for one year that provides info about acceptance rates and impact factors, which are two of the relevant qualities you should attend to when selecting a journal outlet for your work (there are other important qualities too, such as the specific audience it reaches).

Hello COE faculty,

I wanted to bring to your attention a new library resource that may be relevant to you that the UO Libraries has subscribed to on a trial basis.

Cabells Scholarly Analytics<http://researchguides.uoregon.edu/cabells> provides information on academic journals that researchers may want to know when they are evaluating which academic journals to publish in, such as acceptance rates, impact factor, etc. A couple of you expressed interest in this resource, and I hope you will give it a try and let me know if it seems like something that would be useful to you.

The UO Libraries has subscribed to the Education set of the journal whitelist for a one year period and will evaluate whether we should continue our subscription (and consider other disciplinary sets) after this period. Our subscription does not include access to the journal blacklist. If you’d like to browse the journals included in the whitelist, you can click on “whitelist” in the upper menu bar and then browse by a number of filters including discipline area, impact factor, peer review and open access policies and more (see screenshot).
