Subject: [Psi-all] Seeking .50 FTE RA for TOTS Project

Dear all –

We are looking to hire a half-time (.50 FTE) RA for the TOTS Project, a collaborative study conducted with PSI and CBIRT (PI McIntyre, Co-I Ann Glang) here at UO and the University of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital (Co-I Shari Wade). The position description is below. Please share with any interested parties. This is not a GE position, rather it’s a part-time RA that may include expansion of duties and increased FTE over time.
Principal Responsibilities
The purpose of the Research Assistant is to work directly with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team in the implementation and management of research activities focused on developing, evaluating and disseminating research activities and intervention protocols (e.g. assist in administration of an randomized control trial of an online support program for parents of young children with intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges). The position includes communication, record keeping, scheduling, participant recruitment,  database management, technical support, as well assisting with manuscript preparation and presentation materials.
Minimum requirements Qualified candidates with have a BA/BS in a related field and at least two years of experience working in human-subjects research. High-level skills in Word, Excel and Power Point.
Salary: $18 - $22 per hour, depending upon experience
Hours: 50% time, 20 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications:

  *   Ability to communicate with professional stakeholders in various professional capacities
  *   Experience working with populations of diverse backgrounds and/or families
  *   Experience with online survey implementation and data-management in Qualtrics
  *   Ability to provide technical support for Qualtrics surveys and manage database
  *   Ability to coordinate with programmers and database developer about needs
  *   Ability to organize/clean data for project statisticians
  *   Ability to coordinate calendars for scheduling purposes
Professional Competencies

  *   Excellent written and oral communication skills
  *   Ability to attend to a high level of detail on multiple tasks on a day-to-day basis
  *   Ability to work independently at times with moderate supervision
  *   Ability to work in a team environment, requiring participatory decision-making
  *   Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and interns

Under the direction of the PIs and PC:

Recruitment
               • Assist in participant recruitment; coordinate with off-site recruiters
               • Follow up with participants concerning selection criteria, start-up processes, etc.

Database Management
               • Manage project databases
               • Input surveys/measures into Qualtrics
               • Coordinate with research team and database software programmer regarding needs
               • Conduct internal testing of databases
               • Organize/clean data for project statistician

Technical Support
               • Provide technical support to participants
               • Communicate  issues to PIs and assist with problem solving

Scheduling & Coordination
               • Serve as lead coordinator/scheduler
               • Assist with tracking participant payments
               • Participate in weekly project meetings

Misc
               • Assist in manuscript preparation
               • Assist with disseminating findings
               • Upload and manage web-based content
               • Perform additional tasks as needed
