Subject: Exciting Post-Doc Opportunity

Hello friends  and colleagues,

We have a great Post-Doc position just opening up at UConn.  This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with us in launching a new NIMH-funded study of the effects of family violence on biobehavioral indicators of threat-reactivity in young children, ages 4-6 years.  We will be enrolling a large cohort of families from domestic violence shelters and community settings. Threat-reactivity will be assessed at multiple levels (EEG, autonomic, startle, observed behavior in an observational paradigm) within a protocol that also includes multi-method assessments of violence exposure, trauma, and early indicators of child psychopathology.  This position will provide for hands on learning, as well as access to rich established datasets that are prime for data analysis.  (Details are provided in the attached posting.)

Our child group within the UConn Psychiatry has been growing in recent years and has particular strengths in pediatric anxiety, trauma exposure, and PTSD.
