As a Prevention System Manager, you'll promote strategies that support
healthy lifestyles by preventing the misuse of alcohol, tobacco and
other drugs and support that recovery from substance use disorders.
Prevention System Manager is responsible to monitor community based
prevention services (Community Prevention and Wellness Initiative
(CPWI)) and provide technical assistance and training to DBHR community
based prevention services contractors and providers.
You'll provide culturally appropriate and sensitive technical assistance
and training that disseminates the latest substance abuse prevention
science research for service providers, community based organizations
and coalitions. You will also implement statewide evidence based
prevention initiatives based on comprehensive knowledge of effective
policies, planning processes, program facilitation and evaluation.

projects. The Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator is the lead on the
Washington Healthy Youth (WHY) Coalition, is responsible for developing
and implementing projects for the Substance Use Disorder (SUD)
Prevention and Mental Health Promotion (MHP) Section, and is accountable
for monitoring local prevention services contracts.
