Subject: coe-fac: CTL Reading Clinic - Tutoring Opportunity

Hello COE faculty,

As we move towards the end of the term, the CTL Reading Clinic is seeking your help in recruiting UO students to tutor in the clinic this spring term.

In 2016-2017, we are offering free tutoring services in reading and math to struggling students in Grades K-2 at the HEDCO Clinic. Selected students will participate in two hours of small group reading and/or math instruction, Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday each week, delivered by trained tutors.

Tutors will receive training and orientation during Weeks 1 and 2 of the term, and begin teaching intervention groups in Week 3. Students may tutor two or four days per week. Students may also tutor for credit to complete a field experience requirement, or volunteer. This is an excellent opportunity for UO students who are interested in instruction in literacy and/or math, or are considering a career in K-12 education.
