Marsha Kline Pruett is a prominent developmental researcher. She is Maconda Brown O'Connor Chair and Director of the Clinical Research Institute, Smith College School for Social Work. Her current focus examines family dynamics and child development with a specialization on life transitions related to adverse events or circumstances. Pruett is known nationally for the development, implementation, and evaluation of preventive interventions in schools and courts. Among other topics, these programs have addressed mandatory parenting education for separating parents, supporting father involvement in diverse communities, and creating innovative roles for undergraduate and graduate students in trauma-informed secondary education.
