<p class="MsoNormal">There were some excellent questions raised regarding how to handle payments for employees affected by the 35-day rule. After considering all relevant factors, it has been determined that employees falling under the 35-day rule should receive
a payroll advance. The department administrator can complete the payroll advance form on behalf of the employee and note in the comments section that the advance is due to the 35-day rule.<o:p></o:p></p>

<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Processing the payment as a payroll advance helps prevent potential overpayments, as the hours will still load into Banner, reducing the risk of missing a manual adjustment.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Additionally, treating the payment as a payroll advance eliminates the need for manual leave adjustments when processing an MCR for hours. The system will automatically calculate the correct leave accruals
when time is entered.<o:p></o:p></li></ul>
