Reminders


  *   Open Enrollment - Help spread the word, the Open Enrollment deadline is October 31, 2018.  All benefit eligible employees are required to complete Open Enrollment by the deadline or incur additional costs if no action is taken. The Open Enrollment webpage<https://hr.uoregon.edu/hr-programs-services/benefits/benefits-annual-open-enrollment> on the HR website serves as a great resource for employees, providing quick links to complete open enrollment or learn more about plan options and changes for 2019.



  *   Fall Rosters - Check your October rosters to verify that any additions or changes are properly reflected.  Please direct any questions to the proper payroll specialist.



  *   Student Payroll Processing - With the heavy fall rush, the Payroll Office is working to enter as many hire packets as possible. Since the time entry window is now closed, please submit Manual Check Requests as soon as possible for any students whose records were unavailable during the window. You can email them to adoerkse at uoregon.edu<mailto:adoerkse at uoregon.edu> or fax them to 6-1109. Do not wait for the record to be visible in PWIVERI. We will continue to work to get everyone paid.



  *   Departmental Pay Periods - New employees should be made aware of when they can expect to see their first paycheck so it is important for departments to explain their pay periods and the universities pay date during the onboarding process.  It is also important that we keep our Pay Period webpage<https://ba.uoregon.edu/payperiods> up to date.  Please take a look at your department and the associated pay period to ensure that it is correct.  Updates should be sent to Shelby Cooper at shelbyc at uoregon.edu<mailto:shelbyc at uoregon.edu>.



  *   Classified and Temporary Appointment Terminations - It is important that the Payroll Request Forms to terminate Classified and Temporary positions are submitted in a timely manner. A delay in PRF submission can cause issues with benefits, parking, access, new position set up, and increases the risk of overpayments.


Updates


  *   Banner 9 - In Banner 9, the functionality will remain the same but there are changes to the appearance and how you navigate the forms.  The Payroll Office will be holding a number of training sessions to familiarize campus with these changes.  Dates and times of those Banner 9 training sessions will be published soon.


Upcoming Events


  *   Oregon W-4 Form - Some of the federal changes in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) directly impacted Oregon's personal income tax.  These changes have led Oregon to create its own version of the W-4 Form, which will be available by January 2019.  More information will be made available in the next couple of months.



  *   Payroll Large Group Meeting (EMU, Crater Lake Rooms)      November 16th , 9:00-10:00am

     *   I-9 Employment Eligibility Workshop                           November 8th, 10:00-11:15am
