In addition, we are drafting a set of FAQs for you and talking points/sample language for you to share with those who are informing employees of rollbacks.  I expect to have those out to you by early next week.

Subject: deans-dirs: SEIU Classified Staff - Salary Step Reductions/Rollbacks

The new 2013-2015 collective bargaining agreement negotiated between the Oregon University System and SEIU Local 503 provides for merit ("step") increases to be effective on July 1, 2014, unless the February 2014 Legislature allocates funding to implement those steps sooner.

This bargaining agreement condition also requires that employees who gained salary step increases during the period July 1 through October 31, 2013 be restored to the former step in effect on June 30, 2013. The higher step will then be restored at a date after July 1, 2014 that reflects the number the months the increased step was in effect.

This information has been communicated to department payroll coordinators and larger departments have received information from Payroll identifying those employees impacted by the roll backs.  Departments are encouraged to share this information with supervisors so they can inform affected employees.
