mriconvert: Installing MRIconvert on Scientific Linux 5.8

Hello,
I'm trying to install MRIconvert on Scientific Linux 5.8 (an OS based on RHEL). I get the error message you described  " MRIConvert: error while loading shared libraries: libwx_baseu-2.8.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
and
"No package libwxgtk2.8-0 available.
Nothing to do"

I have successfully installed the  program_options_amd64.tar.gz .

I was informed that libwxgtk2.8-0 cannot be found because it is not a proper rpm.  Is this correct? I have found several wxGTK2.8 rpms but I'm not sure if 1) the rpm is the problem and 2) if any of the wxGTK2.8 rpms will solve the problem.


Will you please advise me?
