<p class="xmsonormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">I am very pleased to announce that Stephanie Womack has joined UO as our Director of Animal Welfare Services (AWS). Stephanie will support our Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
and the animal research program. Stephanie will work to ensure the quality and oversight of our program. Stephanie is joining us at a critical time for our program as we will soon be going live with our Research Administration Portal for IACUC (RAP IACUC).
</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="xmsonormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">Stephanie comes to us from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) where she spent the last several years working with animals in research, first as a student researcher and more recently as
the Operations Manager. During her time at UNO, she supported their animal program by overseeing the development of an animal care and use program, leading the process which resulted in institutional accreditation by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation
of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC), and directing the formation of UNO’s first independent Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="xmsonormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="xmsonormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">We are very grateful that Kathy Snell stepped into the role of interim director of AWS over the past year. In addition to maintaining the regular operations of AWS, Kathy played a key role in
preparing for our successful triennial accreditation review by the AAALAC and the RAP IACUC implementation. I would like to thank her and others, particularly Audrey Harris and Tim Mason, who have stepped in to help support the program during this year of
transition. Kathy will continue to work with Stephanie to help in the transition.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
