Animal Welfare Services Staffing Transitions

Dear members of the UO animal research community,

The Animal Welfare Services unit has experienced transitions and changes in staffing for most of the last year, and the transitions continue. We now have a vacancy in the Animal Welfare Services Director position. To ensure continuity of essential animal welfare operations:

  *   Attending Veterinarian Kathy Snell will again serve as Interim Animal Welfare Services Director
  *   Director of TeACS Audrey Harris will increase FTE
  *   Clinical Veterinarian Rachael Alionhart will increase FTE

Because of the quality and experience of our team, I can say ‘expect change’ rather than ‘expect delays’. Nonetheless, thank you for your patience during this time of transition. While UO’s budget environment and Hiring Freeze<https://hr.uoregon.edu/hiring-pay-action-freeze-information> limits our ability to make promises about what comes next, I can say that we will diligently and immediately explore a request for exception.
