2024 Winter Semi-Annual Facility Inspection

[Inst Animal Care and Use Committee]

Hi everyone,

Happy new year! I hope you've all had a relaxing break. It's time again for the Semi-Annual Facility Inspections. We will be inspecting the facilities on the following schedule:


Monday 1-22:    8AM-11AM - TeACS (including 1st floor Streisinger and LISB lab spaces, KC Surgery suite)
12PM-2PM - ZIRCS

Tuesday 1-23:    8AM-10AM - AqACS
12PM-2PM - Aquatic labs

Thursday 1-25: 8AM-10AM - Terrestrial labs (contact IACUC to schedule)
12PM-2PM - Terrestrial & Avian labs (based on attached schedule)


Aquatic labs: We are planning to begin in Pacific at 12PM and work back to Streisinger, based on the schedule attached.
Terrestrial & Avian labs: We are planning to begin at 12PM based on order of entry based on the attached schedule. If you would like to schedule for a morning inspection, please contact us.


General reminders:


  1.  Check for expired items - This is the #1 finding during inspections!
  2.  Label primary and secondary containers
  3.  Check and flush eyewash stations
  4.  Make sure all documentation is complete (surgical records, DEA records, health records, training records, etc.)
