The Greeley-Evans school district, an hour north of Denver, uses Direct Instruction and Reading Mastery Signature Edition as the Core reading program in kindergarten and 1st grade in 13 of our elementary schools! I am a French student and I am training to become a teacher in primary grades, in France.


As I will be in Boulder, Colorado from 01/19/2018 to 01/29/2018, I would like to know if there are any schools implementing DI near Denver/Boulder, Colorado? If so, would it be possible to visit such a school and to observe DI classes?


I've been really interested in Engelmann's work, from Follow Through to more recent work and school implementation. As I will begin to teach next September, I would really appreciate to see firsthand how does a DI class work and to have the opportunity to talk with teachers using DI. I know I cannot use it fully in a French context, but I am sure there are many things to learn from it.


I don’t know what are the regulations as for receiving someone in a class in the US, but to the extent that it is possible and that some teachers would accept to receive me and to share their experience, I would be thankful. In that case, please answer me directly on my personal e-mail.
