I'm thrilled to share that we're recruiting for the newly created position, Assistant Director of Health and Counseling for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County! I recently joined the team at UMBC and grateful for
the opportunity to think creatively and collaboratively across medical, health promotion, and mental health services to support our students, staff, and campus community. We are also getting ready to move into a beautiful new building with a combined Counseling
and Health space this August. Help us provide integrated holistic care to our amazing community!

<div>The Counseling Center at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) provides services to support the emotional health and academic success of UMBC’s diverse and dynamic student body. The Assistant Director of Health and Counseling for Diversity, Equity,
and Inclusion reports to the Director of the Counseling Center and University Health Services and serves in a key administrative role, overseeing Counseling, Health, and Health Promotion’s integrated approach to reaching and supporting historically underserved
and currently oppressed students’ health and wellness.<br>

In addition to providing clinical mental health services, the Assistant Director will help evaluate student needs and support faculty and staff members to promote students' success and wellbeing. They will coordinate training and professional development opportunities
to improve these services and support diversity, equity, and inclusion within our team. They will also assist with budgeting, planning, implementing, and evaluating (Continuous Quality Improvement) equity-focused programs and services. This staff member will
represent the Center to the University community. They are a member of the Center's leadership team and provide coverage for the Director when needed.<br>

UMBC Counseling Center professional staff are responsible for providing counseling services for students experiencing personal, social, and emotional difficulties that may impede academic progress. The range of these services includes initial assessments, short
term individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to campus resources and outside campus providers.<br>
