<p class="MsoNormal">The National Latinx Psychological Association recently announced accomplishments of NLPA members, including the awards and leadership of two phenomenal CPSY graduates. Part of what helps me cope with this onslaught of negative events, and
the systems that keep perpetuating these events, is knowing about the ongoing efforts that so many of you are engaged in to bring about change. What you see below is only a slice of what Drs. Cerezo and Blanco-Oilar contribute. Congratulations to them both!!

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="color:black">Alison Cerezo </span></b><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Dr. Cerezo was awarded a Hellman Family Foundation Grant and UCSB Academic Senate Grant to study the impact of intersectional stigma and social stress on mental health and substance use in sexual minority women.
The grants will fund ongoing partnerships with community organizations in the Los Angeles area that serve Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ individuals. </span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Dr. Cerezo and her team were awarded the Georgia Babladelis Best Paper Award from the Psychology of Women Quarterly. Their paper was considered the best paper of 2020 for the journal - Cerezo, A., Cummings, M.,
Holmes, M., & Williams, C. Identity as resistance: Identity formation at the intersection of race, gender identity and sexual orientation.
