Abstract:

This presentation offers a practical foundation on the generation of accessible materials for conference presentations. Topics include creating accessible presentation slides and posters, with explanations of why specific practices are more accessible. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions about applying these principles to their work.

Presenter Biography:

Dr. Ashley Woodman is the Program Director for the Developmental Disabilities and Human Service (DDHS) program and a Senior Lecturer in Psychological and Brain Sciences at UMass Amherst. Her work focuses on the impact of raising a child with a disability on parent and family well-being, and the impact of family processes on the psychosocial development of individuals with disabilities over the life course.

Elodie Carel is a Clinical Psychology PhD student at UMass Amherst. Her research interests lie in how social processes support disability identity development and well-being. Elodie has a passion for the creation and dissemination of accessible materials related to research.
