Dear CPSY Student Colleagues,
Please see below for information about this year's Raices Unidas Conference on our campus, Monday May 12th. If you are interested and willing to offer a workshop for Latine high school students click the link to workshops for more information. Many CPSY students have offered these workshops in the past on topics such as preparing college applications, dealing with stresses, using cultural wealth to navigate life, etc. You can offer the workshops in English and/or Spanish.
Please share with anyone else who may be interested. It's a tight deadline, workshop proposals are due in one week.

Hello,
My name is Sarahi Larios Cruz, and I am one of the Co-Coordinators for RUYC for the MEChA chapter at the University of Oregon.
We are so excited to announce the 21st  Raíces Unidos Youth Conference on Monday, May 12th, 2025. This year's theme is Desde Nuestra Raíces, Juntos Crecemos-From our Roots Together We Grow, is a call to recognize and honor where we come from while using that knowledge to grow together in solidarity, empowerment, and collective action.
For many of us, our roots carry the stories of migration, resistance, and perseverance. They remind us that we stand on the shoulders of those who fought for justice, education, and opportunities that were once denied. Yet, our roots are not just about looking to the past-they are also about the present and the future. Growth happens when we nurture and uplift one another, when we create spaces where our voices are heard, and when we take action to shape the world we want to see.
This year, Raíces Unidas Youth Conference seeks to create a space where young people can explore the intersections of culture, identity, and activism. Through workshops, storytelling, and community building, we will reflect on how our histories inform our leadership and the ways we can use our knowledge, passion, and experiences to create meaningful change.
Together, we will grow in knowledge and strength, just as the roots of a tree intertwine to support and sustain one another. In unity, we cultivate a future that honors our past while pushing forward for justice, equity, and empowerment. From our roots, together we grow.

We are currently seeking volunteers and presenters who are eager to help make this conference a success! We appreciated your support last year and would love to have you host another workshop for this year's conference. Your dedication and support are truly appreciated, it's what makes RUYC a great success for the students.
