Hello Black mental health professionals, allies and counseling training programs!
The 3rd Annual Black Cultural Festival is just around the corner on August 19th!
Last year was the first year that there was a mental health pavilion. The booth was beautiful, inviting and contained many treasures including swag, snacks, beverages, literature, a raffle, a browsing library and a comfortable space to sit and connect. The pavilion was a joyful and safe space staffed solely by Black mental health professionals and counseling students.
This year’s theme is “Lifting as We Rise”. This theme feels especially relevant to Black mental health providers, who face significant barriers in training programs and in the field, yet continue to lift their clients through skill, compassion, lived experience and representation.
This is a fabulous marketing and networking opportunity for Black mental health professionals, counseling training programs as well as allied counselors who provide culturally responsive services and resources.
Please reach out to jen at wassermiller.com<mailto:jen at wassermiller.com> about volunteering for and donating to the 2023 BCF’s Mental Health Pavillion.
