Dear SCP Colleagues (apologies for cross postings),

The Section for the Advocacy of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity (formerly SLGBTi) has several open executive committee positions. I am writing to elicit nominations for the below positions. This is a great way for graduate students, ECPs, and interested members to get more involved in SCP and our section. We are quite a fun group! Positions would begin in late Fall 2022. Our section is committed to intersectional advocacy and social justice related to sexual and gender diverse individuals and we strongly encourage BIPOC and TNB colleagues and students to submit nominations.

Here are the open positions with a brief description:
Appointed Positions (appointed by SASOGD Executive Committee):

  *   Two Student Representative positions (1-2 year term)- addresses needs of student section affiliates; works on projects across term and with other EC members. Fall 2022- We are seeking one student representative to join the program committee and one student representative to join the outreach and engagement committee. Please indicate if you have a preference.
Elected Positions (voted on by SASOGD members; open to professionals only):

  *   Program Committee Chair (2-year term)- responsible for coordinating Section programming during convention and other potential gatherings (both virtual and in-person). The program committee chair will work closely with the member-at-large and student representative focused on programming efforts.
  *   Treasurer (2-year term)- disburse funds authorized in the budget on behalf of the Section and maintain custody of all funds of the Section (e.g., preparing an annual Section budget, keeping full record of all funds received and all funds disbursed and shall issue a report on the financial status).
  *   Two Member-at-Large (MAL) positions (2-year term)- perform duties as determined by the Executive Committee with input from the membership, but are expected to relate to the ongoing committee efforts. These duties may include, but are not limited to, coordinating ad hoc or standing committees, projects or special initiatives. Fall 2022- We are seeking one MAL to join the program committee and one MAL to join the outreach/engagement committee. Please indicate if you have a preference.
