Did you know that in 2020, 1 in 5 adults is providing unpaid care to an adult with health and functional needs (According to AARP & National Alliance for Caregiving)? Unfortunately, 40% to 70% of family caregivers have clinically significant symptoms of depression. About a quarter to half of these caregivers meet the diagnostic criteria for major depression. [Zarit, S. (2006)]. We need your help in supporting this population with skilled care!

This workshop is good for therapists, social workers, coaches, chaplains, doulas, and other professionals or volunteers who are working with caregivers. Having a deeper understanding of the care partner’s journey and their needs will help you guide your client.

In the workshop you will:

Fill in the gap in your professional education - caregiving for elders is neglected in most professional programs Explore biases in aging, dependency, and death Gain a deeper understanding of the caregiver’s experience through an 8-stage developmental model Learn how caregiving can be a path for psychospiritual maturation Obtain critical resources for clients Practice relevant interventions
