Subject: Spring 2022: FHS 401 Research Internship

Hi CPHS Faculty and Doc Students:

Please see below, a good reminder from Emily Tanner-Smith.

Please consider adding an undergrad or two - or more - to your research group so that our FHS students can complete their FHS 401 - Research requirement.

Most of us do this, but if not, perhaps use a tiered or scaffolded system in which senior Doc students supervise Undergrads so that your research team gets help and the FHS student has an opportunity to contribute and learn from the research process. I know most of this already do this.

For you doctoral students, please consider ways that you can use some research assistance and work with undergrad students. The professional consultation and supervision experience, alone, has great merit and value to you as you move forward in your program and career.

FHS students are having difficulty identifying FHS 401 research credit opportunities. Perhaps the Undergrad Council can send an annual reminder to all of our faculty and graduate students to remind them of how FHS 401 credits work, to hopefully drum up more supply of opportunities?



I don’t have any opportunities available at this time, but surely someone else in the department might! :)
