Good Monday afternoon everyone!
One of your wonderful colleagues on internship asked me to dig around for some sources of Commencement travel funding to support our soon-to-be graduates and recent early-career graduates. I checked within the COE and most sources are dedicated to recruitment and transition TO the UO, which is logical. But these is no support to celebrate the end. (LOL - The UO Alumni Association helps you celebrate be sending you a letter asking you for a donation!!)
Digging further, Krista helped me find this through the University and Division of Grad Studies. See below. Mostly, these are loan options - but they might be reasonable for immediate expenses like travel costs to UO for graduation.
This doesn’t help our graduates who are early-career and no longer students. But I’ll keep looking. If any of you have ideas and leads, please let me know. Meanwhile, I think you all as our student network will be communicating about housing ideas, and it's best for me to leave that to you all.
Talk to you all soon!
Benedict
