University of Oregon Counseling Services (CS) is looking to add 3 Clinical Externship positions to our CS staff this coming academic year 2022-2023. This externship would begin Fall term 2022 and last through Spring term 2023. Application reviews will begin on Friday, April 1st.
Details of the externship are listed below.
* 10-12 hour weekly time commitment for Fall, Winter, and Spring term (3 extern credit hours per term).
* Provide 6-8 hours of individual therapy and in-take appointments with UO students presenting with a range of concerns, including depression/anxiety, disordered eating concerns, AOD concerns, trauma, grief/loss, and identity development.
* Receive 1 hour of individual supervision and 1 hour of group supervision.
* Receive 2-3 Hours for case management/paperwork.
* Staff meetings and trainings are optional, but not required, for clinical externs.
* There may be some opportunities to do group process observation and co-facilitation if this fits the trainee's interests.
If interested please send the following information via email to Dr. Eric Garcia at egarcia3 at uoregon.edu<mailto:egarcia3 at uoregon.edu>
1. A copy of your CV, including references. One reference should be from a clinical supervisor.
2. A cover letter expressing why you are interested in a clinical externship at CS, including 1-2 training goals that you have for the externship experience. It would also be beneficial to include information about clinical strengths and growth areas to help with supervisor pairings if you are selected.
Best,
Eric
