Clinical Psychologist - Child Outpatient
Function/Duties of Position
The Division of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland Oregon is seeking applications for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level, to join our faculty in the Fall of 2021. We are seeking a clinical/counseling psychologist. The appointee for Child Outpatient Psychotherapy will join a growing Psychiatry Department Child Outpatient Program.
Primary roles include: patient care and supervisiona nd teaching within the psychiatry residency and psychology programs. The successful candidate will have established areas of emphasis that are complimentary to existing clinical teams and services, as well as distinct areas of focus that would provide needed clinical services (e.g. eating disorders, dialectical behavior therapy, family therapy). Clinical care will involve both brief and also ongoing psychotherapy (individual, family) for children. Those treated in our clinic are both staff of the medical university and patients seen in the various departments of our university as well as members of the community. Other responsibilities include:
* Support for the Educational mission by active participation in lectures and teaching for the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program and the Psychiatry Residency program didactics courses
* Clinical supervision of Clinical Psychology graduate practica and of Psychiatry Resident psychotherapy rotations
* Participation in the scholarly life of the University via Grand Rounds, consultation, and instruction
* Service on Departmental and University committees as appropriate
* Engagement in scholarly endeavors as appropriate with approval
Required Qualifications
The applicant must have:
* A doctorate in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited graduate program and an APA accredited internship and necessary post-doctoral supervised training
* Licensed or license eligible in Oregon and experience and/or demonstrated readiness to work well in an interdisciplinary setting
* Experience in the treatment of children and strong capabilities in evidence-based child psychotherapies
