Hi all,
I have served as the GE for the Collegiate Recovery Center and the Alcohol and Other Drug Program at the University Counseling Services. I have split up half of my time at the Collegiate Recovery Center as well as half of my time providing outreach and clinical work through the Alcohol and Other Drug Program. UCS Alcohol & Other Drugs Clinical Externship Application Process
We are looking to add 1 specialist clinical Alcohol & Other Drugs extern to our UCS staff next training year. This experience would begin Fall term 2021 and last through Spring term 2022. The hour breakdown and details of the externship are listed below. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until filled.
* Receive 1 Hour of Individual Supervision
* Provide 7-8 Hours of AOD specialized therapy (individual and/or group)
* Receive 2 Hours for paperwork
* Coming to all staff meetings will not be required, but is optional if the student would like to do so.
* Totals a 10-11 Hour weekly time commitment.
* Student may also have opportunities to provide outreach and/or services to the Collegiate Recovery Center community if that is an interest.

1. A copy of your CV, including references. One reference should be from a clinical supervisor.
2. A cover letter expressing why you are interested in a specialized AOD externship at the UCC, including 1-2 training goals that you have for the externship experience. It would also be beneficial to include information about clinical strengths and growth areas to further help with supervisor pairings if you are selected. Please note any experience you have had in providing Substance use/ Recovery related services. A prior history of AOD clinical experience is not necessary for position.

* There may be some opportunity to do some group process observation and co-facilitation if this fits the trainee’s interests
