A.     Announcements:



  1.  Admissions still in process. Odd year. Will be a small cohort.  Many years ago we had the self-named “little cohort that could” of 5 students. Next year will be similar.


  2.  Externships:  Some sites traditionally used are not taking externships - we will announce soon if UCC (UCS) and AEC (Accessible Education) will be providing externship opportunities next year. If you can, I encourage you to do on-campus externships next year, if and once they open up. The university system will be more predictable.


  3.  Hours toward internship:  All listservs are discussing the issue of reduced hours that will be expected in the future internship applications (conversations in APPIC and CCPTP lists). Don’t panic.


  4.  Any student announcements or updates?



B.     Group Process and problem solving:


1.     Breakout groups to check in and connect with others you don’t see very often or at all, and we want you to provide feedback on 2 questions. Please have one group member keep time and another group member take notes. I will send a message to everyone asking if these time limits are working and may extend them if needed.  Questions:



     *   Provide student feedback on this year admissions process, pros and cons of the modality we used; what worked and what did not?  What do you think about doing the “virtual interview weekend” again next year?  10 minutes on this question.


     *   Brainstorms ideas for improving faculty/student communication: First, identify where you think we need to improve (we often spend time fixing a problem that doesn’t exist) and then, second, identify efforts to improve communication and student support and advocacy.  20 minutes on this question.



2.     Re-convene to share feedback and highlights of your small group brainstorming.



3.     Send any group notes to Benedict.
