First, thank you for your contribution to advancing public/behavioral health knowledge and best practice!

Please consider the opportunity described below to provide 60-75-minute virtual workshop(s) for the Texas Annual Prevention Providers’ Meeting on June 21-24. We extended the deadline to submit a conference presentation/workshop application by end-of-day on April 30. We will notify selected presenters by May 10.

Speaking fees/honoraria are available for selected presentations.

About the Event

APPM 2021 is a free, 100% virtual, multi-day conference designed to support Texas' substance (mis)use prevention and behavioral health promotion workforce. Participants will have opportunities to learn from local and national subject matter experts and engage in discussion with one another. APPM will begin the afternoon of June 21 and conclude at noon on June 24, 2021.


Event Audience

APPM 2021 is open to all Texas Health and Human Service Commission (HHSC)-funded substance (mis)use prevention providers<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/texaspreventiontraining.org/providerdirectory.html__;!!C5qS4YX3!RuteOteVnoW6p6sVUnbZQeh0MDU2ARiKhx1AE1S_tjBaSW2oMqsdh3Ilvk56Bbpmvw$>, their coalition members, and other behavioral health promotion stakeholders across Texas. Last year's virtual APPM had over 600 attendees!


Presentations

Each session will be limited to either 60 or 75 minutes in duration and can occur in one or two parts.

All sessions must focus on topics under our three APPM 2021 tracks relevant to behavioral health:

  1.  Addressing Social Determinants of Health
  2.  Community Mobilization / Community-Based Prevention
  3.  Serving Youth and Families

Additionally, all presentations must address at least one of the six Prevention Specialist Domains outlined by the International Credentialing & Reciprocity Consortium (more information on pp.12-33 here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/www.internationalcredentialing.org/resources/Candidate*20Guides/Prevention_Candidate_Guide.pdf.pdf__;JQ!!C5qS4YX3!RuteOteVnoW6p6sVUnbZQeh0MDU2ARiKhx1AE1S_tjBaSW2oMqsdh3Ilvk4zdfrLXg$>).



Technical Requirements

All APPM 2021 live sessions will occur over Zoom. Presenters are required to have access to...

  *   A private and quiet space to present
  *   Use of a webcam (1080p resolution or better)
  *   Audio headset, external microphone, or internal microphone
  *   A reliable high-speed internet connection
Presenters do not need a Zoom account nor the Zoom app to join a session (Zoom is accessible through any web browser).
