Below is some information about the APA convention in summer of 2021. All programming will be on demand and virtual. There may be a smaller in person conference if conditions allow. All conference proposal deadlines are moved back as per below.

Dear SCP Members:


Thank you for your patience as we waited for an update from APA about the changes for collaborative programming and calls for proposals deadlines. We learned this week that all programming for the 2021 APA Convention will be virtual and on-demand. APA will revisit health guidelines in April 2021 to explore whether or not a concurrent, smaller convention will also be held in person. No matter their decision, all programming must be delivered virtually.

The 2021 Call for Convention Proposals with submission guidelines will be released this coming Monday, November 2. Other important dates include:

  *   December 7, 2020 – Submission deadline for collaborative programming proposals
  *   January 12, 2021 – Submission deadline for standard proposals
  *   Early April 2021 – APA will decide whether to hold a concurrent, smaller convention in person. **We have been assured that virtual presentations will continue to be the primary mode of delivery even if we were to have a smaller in-person conference.**
  *   Mid May 2021 - CE office determines CE sessions offered
  *   July 1, 2021 - Video upload to virtual platform begins. **APA is working to have a new and improved virtual platform to streamline the remote experience.**
  *   August 12-14, 2021 - APA Virtual Convention
