Dear psychology graduate students,



The Clinical and Counseling Graduate Students for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (CCS-DEI) is a newly formed student-led national committee focused on addressing and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within clinical and counseling psychology graduate training programs. School psychology graduate students are also encouraged to join! We aim to amplify the voices of students from historically underrepresented backgrounds within the field of psychology both within and beyond our group. CCS-DEI provides a space for students to ask questions, discuss topics, and learn from others through Zoom and Slack.

There are several current initiatives under CCS-DEI (more details on the attached flyer). The main initiatives we need assistance with are:

1.     URGENT - Commission on Accreditation Feedback DUE OCT. 9, 2020 at 2pm PST/5pm EST

a.     APA Commission on Accreditation is requesting public commentary for the Standards of Accreditation for clinical, counseling and school psychology (Health Service Psychology).

b.     We are calling for the improvement of diversity training requirements for clinical, counseling, and school psychology doctoral programs!

c.      We have organized an effort to submit public comments to the APA Commission on Accreditation. We are asking for as many people as possible to submit comments.

2.     National Call to Action Letter- to demand the dismantling of current diversity training requirements and create more effective antiracist policies that aim to address Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) equity and social justice within our training programs/models.
