Dear CPSY Faculty and Fellow Students,

On behalf of SALA Executive Board members, we want to thank the faculty
for their quick and thoughtful response to our letter. We are aware that
we asked for a lot of information during a time in which things are
constantly changing, and we truly appreciate that you all took the time
to address many of the concerns outlined in the letter.

Additionally, while our intention was to act quickly to address pressing
student concerns that were brought to the Board, we realize that the
tone conveyed in the letter to field these concerns sent the wrong
message. Our ultimate desire was to gain clarity around multiple issues
that would have an immediate impact on CPSY students. However, we
recognize that we could have conveyed this in a more thoughtful manner
and are grateful for the forthrightness of friends, classmates, and
faculty members that voiced apprehension. We sincerely apologize for the
tone conveyed in the original letter and for not also using the letter
as an opportunity to appreciate the work faculty have already done on
our behalf.

We echo Dr. Cronce's desire to maintain strong and collaborative
relationships between students and faculty. As was our original
intention, we hope that the program as a whole maintains open and
transparent communication on program-wide issues in order to support all
students. Since the submission of the SALA letter, we have heard from
multiple students about how their respective advisors have been working
to help them navigate the challenges brought on by the current pandemic.
We are thankful to have faculty who have been working through these
challenges with us and are open to listening to student concerns. Moving
forward, we endeavor to be more thoughtful about the manner in which we
address student concerns and represent a more inclusive range of
experiences for the betterment of the program as a whole.

Sincerely,

The SALA Executive Board
