Greetings fabulous students:

Due to something I don't know about and am deplorably incurious enough to not ask about, we would like all CPSY students to now have HIPAA Certification. This will assist anyone needing supervision in the future and in many of our clinical and supervision classes. It's stuff you already know and live and breathe from being ethical in your practice and research work.

Sorry - I know it's just one other thing you gotta get done - but due to help from our new and talented Dr. Wendy Hadley, at least it is pretty quick and painless.

Here's the skinny:

Below are the instructions for students to take the online training. You should be able to either print or share the certificate of training with Danette (who will track these records -- if all else fails, you can take a screen shot and give it to Danette) to demonstrate certification.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this.

Here is how to access HIPAA training:
*         https://rcs.uoregon.edu/
* Under Quick Links on the left side, clinic Online Training (CITI)
* Near the bottom clinic on "Single Sign On (SSO) and follow the instructions to set up or sign on to an account using your DuckID.
* Under "Courses Ready to Begin" - Information Privacy & Security in Research - clinic "Start Now"
* Complete the first module only , "Basics Course" within the "Information Privacy and Security in Research"
* Once completed it should give the option of printing or sharing course completion wherein you can share with supervisors/clinic directors. If not, students can go into the Records tab at the top of the page and will be able to view all courses completed. You can then click on the course that you are needing to share under "completion record" it states "view-print-share".

Thanks all! There is not a rush at all - but please try to get this done by the first week of Winter term, if not earlier.

Benedict
