cpsylist: UO dissertation research fellowships--preliminary applications due in by Thursday 1/17 5 pm

Dear CPSY Students,

The College of Education deadline for receipt of departmental recommendations this year is January 25, 2019, and our Department CPHS has been cleared to forward 1 nomination for these awards.

Department faculty will meet on Friday 1/18 and discuss a plan for selecting a student nominee to forward to the Dean's office for consideration.

Therefore, if you would like to be nominated for a UO dissertation research fellowship, please submit the following materials by Thursday, 1/17 before 5 pm to me and cc: Danette and your advisor:

  1.  A (draft) research prospectus of your dissertation project of no more than 1500 words (submitted on no more than five pages), excluding works cited pages (works cited may not exceed three pages). The prospectus should be written in language accessible to faculty who are not necessarily specialists in the subject area.
  2.  A CV/résumé that includes your academic awards, honors, and scholarly activity.
  3.
  4.  A list of three faculty recommenders.
You will need to have advanced to candidacy by Spring, 2019, and you should expect to complete your dissertation research by Spring, 2020.  For students who are not quite ready to apply for these awards this year, please note the timing of these awards and their review process for next year (Mid-February deadline to the Graduate School; Mid-January internal deadlines).  Make a note on your calendars for Winter break 2019-20 to begin preparations for your submission.
