Subject: Counseling Psychology Research Request

Dear Training Director,

My name is Rayna Narvaez and I am a PhD student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Iowa. I am conducting research on the advisor-advisee relationship and I am seeking doctoral students from APA-accredited counseling psychology programs to participate in this study. This request represents a third round of data collection in hopes of reaching additional participants.

I am writing to ask if you would be willing to forward this request along with the following link to doctoral students currently in your program. Your assistance is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at rayna-narvaez at uiowa.edu<mailto:rayna-narvaez at uiowa.edu> or my academic advisor, Martin Kivlighan, at martin-kivlighan at uiowa.edu<mailto:martin-kivlighan at uiowa.edu>.

Sincerely,

Rayna

Dear Counseling Psychology Doctoral Students:

All doctoral students over the age of 18 who are currently enrolled in an APA-accredited Counseling Psychology program are invited to participate in a research study. The aim of this study is to assess doctoral students' perceptions of their advisor and the research training environment, and how these perceptions relate to various graduate student outcomes.

This study is being conducted by researchers in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Iowa. The study involves completing a demographics questionnaire and questions related to the advisory relationship and doctoral student research activities. Completion of the survey should take approximately 10 minutes.

Data collection for this project began in 2017, and we are currently seeking additional participants to participate in this study. If you have participated previously, we ask that you please do not complete the survey again.

Participants will have the opportunity to provide their email address to be entered into a drawing for compensation (one of four $25 Amazon gift cards).

If you are interested in participation please follow the link below:
