Hi All,
I am formally reaching out to you to please let your students know about this fully paid opportunities around sexual violence prevention education (SVPE) on campus. As part of our comprehensive campus-wide prevention efforts, we have two mandatory, evidence-based SVPE focused initiatives for all incoming undergraduates, which are led by student peers to create a safer campus community. By the end of Fall term, we train approximately 4000+ incoming first-year students (three times) starting at IntroDUCKtion and continuing on to the first weekend of Fall Term. So, it's incredibly important for us to have your students included so that all their various perspectives can be shared with this new cohort of Fall 2019 students who will become the future of our UO campus culture.
The application is open to students who are interested in sexual violence prevention education and wanting to get involved. No prior experience in sexual violence prevention education or advocacy is needed to apply though we ask for a commitment to caring about these issues; we have quite an involved training process. Both undergraduate and graduate students can apply, though we cannot hire graduate students who already have a 0.49 FTE graduate employee position during that term. Below are more specific details for
Get Explicit 101: Each of the 90minute trainings are facilitated by 3 student peer educators to delve into discussions of sex & relationships and the nuance of sexualized violence. These sessions occur during Saturday & Sunday of Week 1 in Fall Term. All trainings and facilitation sessions are compensated. More details of all dates of commitment (including training schedules) are listed in the application.
* Deadline: Sunday, February 17th, 2019
