Hi all-

I hope you all have a restful break! Congrats on completing first term of 19-20!

The time of year has come for us to arrange interview weekend. This is an exciting time and busy, as you all know. This is the time when we build our community and select new scholars with whom you will be spending the next few years of your lives.

After hearing student feedback, Faculty have arranged to have much greater staff support to arrange the whole weekend, so we have reduced the workload for students as we approach the weekend. Nevertheless, we still ask for the whole student community support to help host the applicants.

I know this is the end of the term and you are very busy. At the same time we are trying to accommodate new applicants and arrange this as early as possible. The more help you provide allows us to continue to support the economic diversity of our student body. We need your help hosting in your homes, transporting, doing campus tours, and running small presentations and discussion groups during the interview day, and coffee talks.

Please volunteer to host applicants for the evenings of January 30 and 31 - Thursday and Friday nights of interview weekend. We tell applicants that you will NOT host them on Saturday night that weekend. And they will have the option of going to a hotel, and some do that.

Please communicate ASAP with Danette about hour ability to host- and how many applicants you can host (1 or more if you are able to do this) and if you can host the preferred 2-nights. If you can only host for one night please let us know that too. Danette will arrange the details.

Thank you, in advance, for your help with this! We hope to get another wonderful group of doctoral students for the incoming year, and you are incredibly important in making this happen.

Please let me know if you have any questions of concerns at this time.

Have a great break- and talk to you all soon!

Pax Omnis.

Benedict
