Please see below call to participate in an online focus group based study:

My name is Andrea G. Hernández Vega and I’m an M.A student at The New School for Social Research (NSSR) currently conducting research for my master’s thesis and research methods course. This study will investigate the training and supervisory experience of bilingual (Spanish-English) psychology/mental health trainees that have conducted therapy in Spanish. The purpose of this study is to better understand the needs and wants of bilingual trainees. I am looking for participants that meet the following criteria


  *   1)    Students  or  recent  graduates  of  a  graduate-level  clinical  or  counseling  psychology program  in  the  U.S.  (including  masters  and  doctoral  programs)
  *    2)    Not  yet  independently  licensed  in  the  U.S.  to  provide  mental  health  services
  *    3)    Have  used  primarily  Spanish  when  conducting  therapy  with  at  least  one  client  or group  during  a  practicum,  internship,  or  post-graduate  experience  in the  U.S.
  *    4)    Received  supervision  from  a  licensed  mental  health  provider  during  that  practicum, internship,  or  post-graduate  experience  (regardless  of  the  language  of  supervision).

If  you  know  other  individuals  who  may  meet  the  study  criteria,  I  would greatly  appreciate  your  forwarding  this  email  to  them  as  well.     My hope  is  that  the  study  will  contribute  to  the  development  of  better  training  in  the  U.S. for  individuals  who  conduct  psychotherapy  in  Spanish.
