The University of Oregon's Counseling Center is seeking applications for the Assistant Director/Training Director position. The assistant director/training director participates as a member of the Counseling Center leadership team, coordinating Counseling Center programs and services and ensuring the psychological health and well-being of the campus community. The assistant director/training director may represent the Center to the University when the director and associate director/clinical director are unavailable and may serve on university committees as appointed by the director.
This position is responsible for the APA-accredited doctoral health psychology internship and the practicum and externship training programs. This position coordinates the practicum and externship programs and/or supervises professional staff members who coordinate those programs; supervises staff who provide supervision and training to doctoral interns and other trainees; coordinates the recruitment, training, and evaluation of psychology trainees; and ensures compliance with APA standards and
guidelines. This position supervises and trains psychology trainees and psychologist residents and professional clinical staff. The assistant director/training director is responsible, in coordination with director and fiscal coordinator, for the training budget. This position provides psychological services and programs to the university community and assists department leadership in responding to student and campus crisis situations.
Demonstrated experience supervising and training future mental health providers is necessary. Experience with developmental and serious mental health issues relevant to university students is required. This position balances the need for high quality training programs with high clinical demand. The assistant
director/training director reports to the director.
