Dear Prospective Participant,

My name is Srishyama Vempaty. I am a Clinical Psychology Doctoral Candidate at Spalding University, seeking participants for my dissertation entitled, “Evaluation of Clinicians’ Strengths-Based Practice with Clients.” The proposed study was approved on 09/08/2017 by the Research Ethics Committee (REC) at Spalding University. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this approval, please contact the REC Chair, Dr. Cindee Quake-Rapp at recchair at spalding.edu<mailto:recchair at spalding.edu> The purpose of this study is to examine clinicians’ work with client strengths, and the degree to which it is influenced by their personal style and the knowledge/use of their own strengths. Such information is expected to be beneficial in providing greater insight into trainees’ knowledge and utilization of strengths-based practice, in addition to increasing its education and training across graduate, internship, and postdoctoral psychology programs.

The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. Eligible participants are graduate students, pre-doctoral interns, and postdoctoral fellows in an APA accredited clinical or counseling psychology graduate, internship, and postdoctoral programs. Participation in this study requires a minimum of one year of assessment and therapy practicum experience (1 year of combined therapy & assessment practicum also qualifies). Participation in this research is completely voluntary. Participants will provide responses on demographic characteristics and a series of measures regarding their clinical training and use of strengths-based assessment and therapeutic interventions. At any time, participants may choose to stop completing the survey without penalty by closing the browser. Any partially completed surveys will be deleted. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the principle investigator, Srishyama Vempaty at svempaty at spalding.edu<mailto:svempaty at spalding.edu> or the supervising faculty member, Dr. Norah Chapman at nchapman02 at spalding.edu<mailto:nchapman02 at spalding.edu>

As a token of appreciation, all participants will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win one of the two $25 Amazon gift cards upon completion of the survey. Please use this link http://sbp.questionpro.com<http://sbp.questionpro.com/> to access the survey. Taking the survey on a laptop or desktop is recommended.

Thank you so much for your time, effort, and support.

Best,
