Good morning! Please read this carefully and take it in. These important instructions are specific to CPSY:

??Please read Dr Keilin's Match email of this morning. Note your responsibility to be available by phone for contact by your internship site, and see his instructions about what to do if you'll be at a different number.

????Match emails will be sent by 7:00 AM Oregon time. They're sometimes sent earlier. By 7:01 AM, email me, Ellen, and your chair with your news. Normally, forwarding your Match email with the word "YIPPEE!!!!" in the heading is sufficient. Feel free to further editorialize if you wish. Under these circumstances only, emoticons and gifs are appropriate components of professional communication.

  * Do this before being distracted by interactions with your partner, parent, or high school softball team (all of whom are, peculiarly, also psychology internship applicants).
  * Make sure we have your Match information.
     * ?Really. Don't go celebrate before letting us know where you matched!
  * Don't forget to carry the phone where your new site will contact you, or from which you will contact them at 8:00 AM Oregon time.

Receiving crummy news:

  * ??If you don't Match, you also need to let us know at 7:01 AM. We understand that not matching feels terrible and that you may not feel like announcing it, but we need to know immediately so that we can support you, angrily denounce the whole deal and shake our fists at the sky, and help you with the first steps of Phase 2.
  * CPSY has an excellent Match record. Supply and demand issues make this impossible to predict, but the stats are in your favor. You would not have been approved to apply if your faculty thought you weren't qualified and ready. It's important for you to get faculty and peer support on Friday.

On behalf of your faculty and the community of psychologists, congratulations on your successes thus far and on making it to this important professional milestone. Like all rites of passage, it has its nerve-wracking aspects. Practice self-care, all right?
